Harassment Notification Requirements for NSF Awardees

Each U.S. National Science Foundation research award includes, as part of the award's general terms and conditions, the article "Notification Requirements Regarding Sexual Harassment, Other Forms of Harassment, or Sexual Assault," which implements the following requirement:

Awardee organizations must notify NSF of any findings/determinations of sexual harassment, other forms of harassment, or sexual assault by an NSF-funded principal investigator (PI) or co-PI, or of the placement of the PI or co-PI on administrative leave, or the imposition of any administrative action relating to harassment or sexual assault finding or investigation.

How to submit a notification to NSF

An organization's authorized organizational representative (AOR) must submit a notification to NSF using the Organizational Notification of Harassment Form.

When submitting a notification, only the identification of the PI or co-PI is required. Personally identifiable information regarding any complainants or other individuals involved in the matter should not be included in the notification.
